Folks! Women's basketball is back in full swing! Sorry I missed a thread for Monday's game, still adjusting to life with a newborn and a four year old over here, so I'm very much sleep deprived for the foreseeable future. While Monday's season opener was closer than it maybe should have been, Jan Jensen and the retooled No. 10 ranked Hawkeyes took care of business against Towson 73-45, led by Dani Carnegie's 21 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists. After a season that ended with the Hawkeyes not being able to score points when they were most needed, it's great to see Iowa with a go-to scoring option
I'll have some deeper insights about the week tomorrow, but look for tonight's game against Eastern Illinois to be another opportunity for Jensen to try multiple lineups and see what might stick going forward ahead of Sunday's huge matchup at UConn. I'm heading to Carver for the first half of the game so I won't be around a ton in the comments, but I'll be around on Sunday to blog with y'all! Enjoy the game, watch on mute if you can (sorry college kid commentators) and discuss civilly in the comments. Let's hope this game shows some improvement from Monday to the tune of a 20+ blowout early.
Q. When you look at the film, they're second in the country in red zone efficiency. What do you see from this unique offense that you need to prepare for maybe uniquely?
