New York Yankees star Aaron Judge has missed the past two games against the Cleveland Guardians due to a bone bruise. According to Bryan Hoch, Judge went for an MRI on Wednesday and is set to receive an X-ray and CT Scan on Thursday.
" Aaron Judge went for an MRI last night. X-ray and CT scan today. Yankees are still looking for a complete diagnosis, Aaron Boone said," Hoch reported.
Boone joined MLB Network and discussed the situation as well.
"Trust me, I want to know as much as everyone else," Boone said. "Maybe even more… I do expect us to know something definitive by today, and even immediately. Nothing as of now."
The bone bruise is reportedly near Judge's rib cage. The Yankees are proceeding with extreme caution. They will not make a final decision on his IL status until all of the information is made available to them.
Judge has not performed up to his MVP-caliber expectations in 2026, but he's still playing well. The Yankees slugger has recorded a slash line of .248/.375/.533 to go along with 17 home runs and a .907 OPS. Judge's down season is a year most players around the league can only dream of.
For now, Judge's primary focus is on recovering from his injury. The Yankees are obviously hopeful he will be able to avoid an IL stint, but New York is also going to be cautious as mentioned.
Updates will continue to be monitored and provided on Aaron Judge's injury status as they are made available.
