Yordan Alvarez could be walking away from the 2026 season with multiple awards. He already has the batting title, finishing the season batting .316; now he has been named a finalist for the MVP and Silver Slugger awards.
Alvarez received his first Silver Slugger Award back in 2022, so if he wins this year, he can add it to his collection. 2026 was his first batting title, and if he secures the MVP, this would be his first MVP award. He might have missed the Triple Crown this season, but he could take three awards in 2026.

Alvarez came close to the Triple Crown, but Orioles slugger Pete Alonso beat him out in home runs and RBI in the American League. Alonso finished the season with 43 home runs and 113 RBI. Alvarez was close behind with 42 home runs and 106 RBI. He did, however, finish the season leading all of Major League Baseball with a .316 batting average, becoming just the third Astro ever to win a batting title, joining Jose Altuve and Yuli Gurriel. After missing significant time last year, he sat out just four games this season, playing in 158.
Alvarez has been mentioned frequently in MVP discussions, but he was named a finalist on Nov. 2. The MVP award will be announced on Nov. 12. His fellow MVP finalists are Junior Caminero and Bobby Witt Jr.
