- New York Jets PFF Grades Show Where Things Fell Apart in Overtime Loss
The Jets report card is in for Week 2, showing who was good and who was not-so-good.
The PFF grades (Pro Football Focus) for the overall individual Jets performances measure a player's individual performance, contribution, and value on every single play relative to the expected outcome, rather than just relying on standard box-score statistics.

Analysts evaluate every player on a -2.0 to +2.0 scale using 0.5-point increments. 60 is the league average, with 70-80 considered above average to good, and 90 elite. It considers what players do beyond the box score,
As previously reported, Jets defensive tackle Jowon Briggs was the runaway winner for highest grade, pulling in an 86.7 PFF score. He had a forced fumble and a sack in the game. Briggs was PFF's highest-graded player from either team.
The left side of the offensive line fared well in the ratings. Left tackle Olu Fashanu had an 84.0, while left guard Dylan Parham had his second straight strong game, coming in at an 83.0. Parham, brought over from the Raiders, was PFF's highest-scoring Jet in the Tennessee Titans game in Week 1.

The two linemen were the only bright spots for a Jets front that surrendered four sacks and saw the team rush for only 67 yards.
Defensive tackle T'Vondre Sweat came in with a 79.8, helping the Jets shut down the Packers running game. He was part of a Jets defense that now ranks No. 2 in the NFL against the run.
Cornerback Azareye'h Thomas had a 73.0 grade. The high score came despite Thomas being flagged for a crucial 38-yard pass interference penalty in the fourth quarter. It was a mistake that set up a touchdown for the Packers, a key moment that led to the Packers' 20-17 overtime win.

The players with the worst PFF scores reflect the Jets trouble handling the Packers. Tight ends Jelani Woods (37.5) and Mason Taylor (53.2) joined right tackle Armand Membou (51.3) in being overwhelmed by the Packers defensive line, particularly defensive end Lukas Van Ness .
The Jets defense also had some laggards. Veteran linebacker Demario Davis had a big hit that put Packers receiver Jayden Reed out of the game early in the first quarter. That was all the noise he made in the game.
Also struggling were cornerback Brandon Stephens (48.2), edge Will McDonald IV (50.5) and defensive tackle David Onyemata (49.9). McDonald was listed as questionable before the game with an ankle injury, and Onyemata was put on injured reserve today by the Jets, so they have a fig leaf to cover their performances.

Despite those lackluster grades, the Jets mostly stifled the Packers offense, holding them under 200 yards of total offense. But in the stat that counts – the final score – the Jets fell short.
