Cincinnati Bengals head coach Zac Taylor inevitably faced questions about his contract length during his presser on Wednesday.
That was Taylor's first media appearance since the report suggested that Taylor received something of a secret extension with the Bengals .
Prior reporting had suggested Taylor was only under contract for one more season, through 2026. The new report says Taylor actually got a second extension that puts him under contract through at least 2027.
Either way, Taylor didn't have much to say on the topic.
In fact, Taylor said "I don't think it really matters".

Taylor attempted to massage this a bit by going into expected coach-speak about coaching every game like his job is on the line: "You coach every game like it could be your last game."
Alas, the whole thing is problematic. In a town like Cincinnati, where contracts are traditionally ironclad and never broken early, it changes the conversation around Taylor, the Bengals ' future and the Joe Burrow era as a whole.
As alluded to in the presser, though, everyone will have to wait for Bengals management to actually give an interview in the offseason to get some real answers on this topic.
