The NBA Finals are in full swing, with the San Antonio Spurs looking to level the series in Game 4 at Madison Square Garden.
New York still lead 2-1, but the mood around the matchup has become increasingly hostile after a tense Game 3. The biggest flashpoint came when Victor Wembanyama appeared to shove Jalen Brunson around the head and neck area.
That moment was not upgraded to a flagrant foul, and it has continued to dominate the conversation. Now Zohran Mamdani has chimed in while also sending a clear message about fan behaviour.

The first-quarter incident became a major talking point after fans slammed Wembanyama's no-call during Game 3.
The reaction from the Knicks players was pointed, with Jose Alvarado's warning after controversial shove only adding to the tension before Game 4.
The discussion has not only stayed on the court. Ben Stiller urged Knicks fans not to cross the line when reacting to Spurs supporters.
He wrote: "Being a Knick fan doesn't mean being disrespectful to Spurs fans in any way…we get caught up during the games but we gotta show respect to our fellow humans…"
Mamdani replied on X and tied that message to the officiating debate that has raged on throughout this series.

"Couldn't agree more. We'll win this series on the court (even if the refs refuse to call a flagrant on Wemby), not by targeting, harassing, or attacking Spurs fans.
"Knicks in 5."
That echoes what the mayor said when approving a ticketed watch party outside MSG, with Mamdani's Game 4 watch party decision coming after reports of violence and harassment toward Spurs fans.
This has the potential to become one of New York's biggest basketball moments in decades. It should not be sullied by hostility away from the court.
Game 4 tip-off is fast approaching.
