Sports Interaction
Sports Interaction has operated since 1997 and is one of the operators in Ontario's regulated sports betting market. They offer wide-ranging sports coverage, with a strong focus on major leagues (NFL, NHL, NBA) as well as several niche sports (e.g., curling).
Bettors can place single bets or add multiple selections to a parlay. The Easy Parlay makes it easy to build parlays. In most cases, every selection in a parlay must win for the parlay to pay (settlement rules will vary by market).
Sports Interaction also has an enormous range of betting markets on the Canadian teams, which makes it very appealing to Ontario sports fans. It supports Interac e-Transfer, Instadebit, Visa, and Mastercard. Both deposits and withdrawals have a C$10 minimum, and withdrawals generally take 1 to 3 business days to clear.
Customer support is available 24/7 via live chat or by phone at 1-888-922-5575. The Android app has a 3.7/5 rating, with a small number of users reporting that it tends to freeze up at times during busy weekend betting periods.

How Do You Get Into Sports Betting in Ontario?
To get started with sports betting in Ontario, you'll need to select a licensed sportsbook, create an account, verify your identity, and then deposit funds. You must be at least 19 years of age and physically located in Ontario when you place your real money bets.
The registration and verification process will of course vary from operator to operator, but the general process is the same.
1. Choosing a Sportsbook
Start by comparing the Ontario sportsbooks on the basis of the sports and betting markets they offer, the payment methods they accept, the promotions they run, the customer support they provide, and the responsible gambling tools they have.
It's also worth checking whether they've got a mobile app, whether they offer live betting, and whether they have good odds on the sports you actually follow.
2. Signing Up and Confirming ID
To register, you'll need to give your full name, date of birth, address, and contact details.
Sportsbooks must verify your identity and confirm that you're at least 19 years old. You may be asked to upload an ID or submit additional documents such as proof of address. Verification times vary depending on the operator and whether further checks are required.
3. Depositing Funds
Once your account is all set up, you can go to the cashier to make a deposit. Most of the Ontario sportsbooks will take Interac and debit/credit cards; a few will also take e-wallets and other forms of payment.
Before you deposit, check the minimum deposit amount, any applicable fees, and the processing times. Those can vary between bookies and between payment methods.
4. Choosing a Bet Type
Ontario sportsbooks have a variety of ways to bet available to you, including moneylines, point spreads, totals, and parlays.
Moneyline bets are simply a bet on who's going to win the event. Point spreads apply a handicap to one of the teams. Totals are a bet on whether the combined score will be over or under a certain number.
Parlays are wagers that combine a number of selections into one, with all the legs having to win for the parlay to pay out. Many bookies will also allow you to switch between decimal, American, and fractional odds.
5. Making Bets
Once you've found a market you like, select the odds to add it to your bet slip. Enter your stake and the bookie will then show you your potential return prior to you clicking on the bet.
Double-check the event, selection, the odds, and the stake prior to submitting. This is especially important with live betting where the odds are going to be in a state of flux as the game progresses.
6. Withdrawing Winnings
When you're ready to cash out, just go to the cashier at the sportsbook and pick an available withdrawal method. Remember that some of the deposit methods may not be able to be used for withdrawals.
You may also be required to complete further identity verification prior to your withdrawal being approved.
Check the minimum withdrawal amount, any potential fees, and the estimated processing times. The sportsbook will need some time to look at your request, and your bank or payment provider will then take some time to get the funds to you.

How to choose a sports betting site
To find the best sports betting sites, you need to look at the features that are important to you. Market depth, payments, app performance, and responsible gambling controls are all things you should consider.
Range of leagues
Check the scheduled markets for the leagues you're following. A high sports count doesn't necessarily mean you're going to get deep props on every single event.
Compare the moneylines, the spreads, the totals, and the player props on the same game. That will show you the differences between the books.
Payment methods
Interac is a standard payment method at the Ontario sportsbooks. Pick a site that offers a method you're comfortable using for both your deposits and your withdrawals.
Confirm that the cashier supports deposits and withdrawals via your preferred method. Some deposit methods won't be able to receive payouts.
Review the minimums, fees, and processing estimates prior to funding an account. All amounts must be in Canadian dollars.
App stability
Test navigation during a busy sports window before placing a live bet. Focus on odds refreshes, suspended markets, and bet-slip updates.
Recent app reviews can identify recurring issues. Store ratings alone don't capture the full Ontario betting experience.
How We Rate Our Betting Sites
We assess the sportsbooks across five key areas: licensing, the range of betting markets, the user experience, the payment options, and the quality of customer support. Our reviews will also take into account the responsible gambling tools on offer and how clearly the operator explains the process of bet settlement.
App performance makes up 30% of the overall score and competitive odds 25%. We look at the markets available across the major leagues, the ease of use of the app, and whether the deposit and withdrawal details are clearly laid out. We also take a look at the app store ratings for context (though these don't form part of the actual score).
Security and customer service are key elements in our assessment. All sportsbooks must use 256-bit encryption to meet our minimum security requirements. To achieve full marks for customer service, live chat agents must respond within 3 minutes. We also require at least 4 deposit options for Canadian players, with at least one of those options having a minimum deposit of C$10 or less.
We apply the exact same testing process to every sportsbook, looking at the same markets and doing the same banking stuff. Our ratings are completely independent, so no sponsorships, advertising deals, or promotional partnerships in any way have a bearing on the final score.
We check licensing and regulatory details via iGaming Ontario and make a clear distinction between features that the operator has advertised and those that we have actually tested. The betting markets, payment options, app performance, and user ratings can all change, so our reviews are based on the information available to us at the time of the test.
Legal Sports Betting Explained
Bill C-218 received Royal Assent on June 29, 2021, and the criminal code provisions of the bill came into force on August 27, 2021. The bill allowed the provinces to conduct and administer single-event sports betting.
Legal online sports betting came to Ontario on April 4, 2022. The two key players in that space are the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) and iGaming Ontario (iGO). AGCO licenses operators; iGO regulates them.
From 2024-25, the market generated over C$11B in betting wagers and over C$654M in betting revenue.

What is the AGCO?
The Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario regulates gaming, alcohol, cannabis retail, and horse racing. It registers private iGaming operators and enforces Ontario standards.
AGCO registration confirms regulatory eligibility. It in no way implies that the regulator rates one sportsbook above another.
Who can bet in Ontario?
Bettors must be at least 19. They must also be physically located in Ontario when placing real money wagers.
Operators use geolocation checks to ensure that the player is actually in Ontario when placing real money wagers.
Sports Betting in Ontario
Ontario has an open commercial iGaming market in addition to OLG's own provincial offering. Wagers were C$11.4 billion in fiscal 2024-25.
Popular Sports to Bet On
Ontario sportsbooks will typically carry coverage of hockey, football, basketball, baseball, and soccer. Market depth will vary from operator to operator, league to league, and event to event. It's worth comparing the individual matchups to see which books have the props and live markets you're after.
NHL teams will play 84 regular season games in 2026-27. The Stanley Cup Playoffs are best-of-seven series, so the total number of playoff games will vary.
Ontario Sports Teams and Sportsbook Partnerships
These deals see the corporate logos on the jerseys and on the stadium boards throughout the course of the season. The odds are embedded in the TV and radio broadcasts as well.
These are the marketing and fan engagement agreements. They in no way confer any regulatory status on the operator or in any way relate to the quality of the betting product.

What else can you bet on in Ontario?
Some of the Ontario sportsbooks will actually have betting available on things other than the traditional sports (esports, entertainment awards, and such). Market availability and wagering limits will vary from operator to operator.
You'll occasionally come across some bookies laying odds on major entertainment events (the Oscars being a good example), but of course those markets aren't available at every operator, and the stakes are likely to be considerably lower than you'd see on a normal sport.
Ontario also has horse racing (governed by a separate set of federal regulations from online sports betting).
