CLEVELAND — The Browns have added another Pro Bowler to their starting offensive line. Or, more accurately, returned another Pro Bowler to that line.
Right guard Wyatt Teller was officially activated from the injured reserve on Saturday. The Browns also removed the injury designation for him, meaning he's expected to start Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens.
To make room on the active 53-man roster, the Browns waived cornerback Kahlef Hailassie . Hailassie, whom the Browns acquired off waivers in August 2023 from the Kansas City Chiefs , was inactive for six of the first seven games this season.
The Browns also elevated wide receiver Jaelon Darden from the practice squad. He has been on the active gameday roster three times previously this season, including a start at wide receiver last week.
Teller suffered the injury to his right knee on Dustin Hopkins ' 53-yard field goal try with 10:45 remaining in the third quarter in Week 3 against the New York Giants . He was lined up at right guard on the field goal team next to right tackle Dawand Jones , who rolled into Teller's knee when New York's Rakeem Nuñez-Roches and D.J. Davidson knocked him down on the snap.
"Good," Teller said Wednesday when asked how he was feeling. "Getting back, declared or whatever, return to play. So see how I feel, see how it is. Ran a little bit, but haven't gone against any mean [defensive] tackles yet. So lot to learn."
"It does kind of suck," Teller said of how the injury happened. "I really wish that it wouldn't have gone down like that. But that being said, it happens. It's usually not me and it happened to me, so yeah."
Rookie Zak Zinter started the first two games in Teller's place, before initially being replaced in Week 6 against the Philadelphia Eagles by Michael Dunn . Zinter had to come in on the second possession and finish out the game after Dunn moved to center because of Nick Harris ' ankle injury, but Dunn started at right guard again last week against the Cincinnati Bengals .
The Browns are expected to start Dawand Jones at left tackle in place of the injured Jedrick Wills Jr. The rest of the starting line would look like it was expected to look with Joel Bitonio at left guard, Ethan Pocic at center, Teller at right guard and Jack Conklin at right tackle.
