CLEVELAND — The Guardians were going with an opener Wednesday night, but Mother Nature has intervened.
The Guardians- Kansas City Royals game set for Wednesday night has been postponed due to inclement weather. The game has been rescheduled as part of a split doubleheader on Aug. 26 beginning at 1:10 p.m. The second game that day will have a first pitch time of 6:40 p.m.

Fans holding tickets to the June 5 game can use their exact ticket to enter the 1:10 p.m. game on Aug. 26 and do not need to exchange tickets. If fans are unable to attend the Aug. 26 make-up game at 1:10 p.m., they can make an exchange through the team's ticket policies.
The Guardians were set to start reliever Nick Sandlin Wednesday night, with Logan Allen available out of the bullpen. Those plans have been altered with the rainout. Tanner Bibee will still start Thursday's game, with Allen sliding in after that to take the mound Friday.
