A game winner ended up making Cleveland Cavaliers guard Donovan Mitchell an award winner.
Mitchell was named the Eastern Conference Player of the Week for Week 2 of the NBA season (Oct. 28-Nov. 3).
The 28-year-old helped lead the Cavs to a 4-0 record last week, averaging 25.3 points per game, 2.8 rebounds and 4.3 assists. He also shot 41.9% from 3-point range and was a perfect 10-for-10 from the foul line.
This is the fourth time Mitchell has won the award since joining the Cavs. That ties him for second in franchise history for the weekly award with Kyrie Irving . LeBron James is the franchise leader, being named Player of the Week an eye-popping 42 times while he played for Cleveland.
On Saturday, Mitchell sank a late jumper against the Milwaukee Bucks to give the Cavaliers a 114-113 win.
The Cavs are one of two NBA teams to remain undefeated this season with the Oklahoma City Thunder being the other.
