One of golf's most popular made-for-TV events in recent years is back, and Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy will headline it once again.

Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy return as captains for the 2026 Golf Channel Games, bringing fresh talent and a high-stakes rematch to Florida.

McIlroy and Scheffler will have mostly new lineups when they battle in the second edition of the competition on December 16.

There is no debate about who the best two golfers in the history of the game are. Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods are far and away the best players of all time.

Scottie Scheffler has been the dominant figure in professional golf over the past few years. Scheffler has already won 22 times on the PGA Tour including four major championships.

Scottie Scheffler won three times in 2026, took the FedExCup, and played outside the United States twice. For some critics, that last number is the problem.

Scottie Scheffler's 2026 net worth climbs past $130M in prize money. See how his selective endorsements build wealth while keeping family life intact.

There is no doubt that for decades now, Tiger Woods has had a special influence on the golfing world. So, back in December 2024, when he praised Scottie Scheffler, saying, “He doesn’t really do anything wrong,” everyone, naturally, agreed.
