Commanders head coach Dan Quinn provided an update on Jayden Daniels ' status on Monday.
"The status for Jayden we'll put down as week to week. We will take him through all the steps at practice, assess how he is doing, and keep working through that. We're hopeful he can play, but we will also make sure to take every precautionary step and do it smartly for the player and the man," Quinn said. "It's not gonna be something that knocks him out long term."
Quinn said the team hasn't ruled out Daniels for Week 8's tilt against the Chicago Bears .

Daniels sustained a left rib injury during the first quarter of Washington's 40-7 win against the Carolina Panthers . The Commanders initially deemed Daniels questionable to return but he was later downgraded to out.
After Washington's 11-play, 85-yard field goal drive, Daniels walked off the field in discomfort. The Commanders' medical staff attended to him on the bench and went into the blue tent for further evaluation.
