The Rockets' embarrassing losing streak to the Golden State Warriors is now at 15 games after Thursday's 99-93 loss ( box score ) in San Francisco. Even with future Hall of Famers Steph Curry (bilateral knee injury management) and Draymond Green (left calf tightness) both sidelined due to injury, Houston still wasn't able to end a dubious streak that extends back to the start of the 2020-21 season.
Tari Eason (concussion protocol) sat out for the Rockets . Houston (15-8) remains in the No. 2 spot in the 2024-25 Western Conference standings, though the margin has considerably tightened — with Golden State (13-8) now tied in the loss column.
For the Rockets, it's their longest losing streak to a single NBA opponent since an extended run to the Los Angeles Lakers in the 1960s.
Houston shot just 37.6% from the field and 26.3% on 3-pointers in Thursday's game. Alperen Sengun led the way with 16 points, though he shot just 7-of-15 (46.7%) and was a liability defensively for long stretches of the game.
Jonathan Kuminga scored a career-high 33 points for the Warriors on 13-of-22 shooting (59.1%), including 3-of-6 on 3-pointers (50.0%). His layup in the final 20 seconds put the game away.
"One of the softest games since I've been here," head coach Ime Udoka said postgame of his Rockets, who have now lost consecutive games for the first time this season.
