This, my friends, is a greasy one.
Jori Lehtera was given a five-minute boarding major and ejected from Wednesday's clash between the Flyers and Bruins after laying a brutal hit from behind on Ryan Donato in the second period of Philadelphia's 4-3 win.
And just incase you were wondering, yes, this ratchet hit looks just as bad in full speed.
Donato left the ice and headed straight for the locker room after the hit, but was back on the Bruins bench for the start of the third period. Lehtera, on the other hand, was given the boot and no matter which way you look at it, this hit was an egregious one all around.
Charging? Boarding? Hit from behind? Take your pick.
On the heels of the Canadiens' Paul Byron getting three games for a much more questionable hit on Tuesday, one would assume Lehtera will be hearing from the league's department of player safety right …. about ….. now.
