Alabama football signed 5-star quarterback recruit Keelon Russell on Wednesday's start of the early signing period, and a Crimson Tide fan favorite appeared for the big moment.
Russell, the No. 1-ranked quarterback in the 2025 class, was joined by Alabama star freshman receiver Ryan Williams on his Instagram Live on Wednesday as Russell put pen to paper in Duncanville, Texas.

Russell, who's set to possible compete for a starting job next season with the likely departure of quarterback Jalen Milroe to the NFL draft, appears to already have a strong relationship with his future wide receiver No. 1.
"The plan is, get in there, win a national championship," Russell said with Williams also on the live stream. "It's all overstood, everything's already overstood. We going there to take over business and we gonna do something crazy next year."
It's safe to say Russell and Williams have already talked about their expected lethal quarterback-receiver combo, as the two former high-end 5-star prospects are poised to be the future of the Crimson Tide offense.
Russell, the No. 2 overall prospect in the class per 247Sports' Composite rankings, is also the No. 1-ranked player in the state of Texas out of Duncanville High School. The winner of the Elite 11 quarterback competition also visited SMU and Ole Miss during his recruiting process.
Russell is also a proven winner, winning the state championship in Texas' 6A-1 division in both of his two seasons as Duncanville's starter. Duncanville is undefeated so far in 2024 and is looking to complete the three-peat with Russell.
Russell's top target at Duncanville is fellow 5-star receiver Dakorien Moore, the No. 1-ranked receiver who's set to sign with Oregon on Wednesday.
