The San Jose Sharks have gone the distance this postseason, reaching Game 7 in both playoff rounds, and adding four additional overtime periods.
Leading all playoff skaters by almost an hour of ice time is Sharks defenceman Brent Burns . He's played nearly the equivalent of skating every regulation minute for an entire seven-game series.
The 34-year-old veteran hasn't slowed down his point production with all the additional ice time he's seen this postseason. The Norris Trophy nominee has tallied a point per game through two rounds heading into the Western Conference final.
The Sharks and Blues begin another series that is expected to go the distance with Game 1 on Saturday night. At this pace, Burns could hit over 600 minutes on ice by the end of this round... legs feed the wolf right?
