Tennessee will open its 2025 baseball season on Feb. 14 versus Hofstra at Lindsey Nelson Stadium. Tony Vitello enters his eighth season as Tennessee's head coach.
Vitello met with media on Wednesday and discussed the 2025 season.
"The fall was good," Vitello said. "It was unlike last fall where everything was kind of hunky-dory from the get-go, was almost like don't mess this up or how can we add to this, or we got to get creative. This was more of a traditional building up phase, and I think there was a lot of positives out of the fall. It ended well, but when they came back in January, I didn't say anything to them, maybe Hunter Ensley did or something, I don't know, but they just seemed to have a little more personality and a little more energy to them. It'll be interesting to see if they can keep that level of those two things, or other positive traits, or even better, build off it. I think the 2025 team, they kind of want to put their own stamp on this particular year."
Tennessee enters its upcoming season after winning the College World Series , SEC Tournament and the SEC regular-season championship in 2024.
