Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence was shut down for the remainder of the 2024 season after opting to get surgery to repair his injured AC joint in his non-throwing shoulder.
According to head coach Doug Pederson, Lawrence had successful surgery on Dec. 17 and is on the road to recovery. There isn't a current timeline for him to return to the field but the expectation is that he'll be back ahead of training camp next year.
Lawrence suffered the injury in Week 9 against the Philadelphia Eagles , but did not miss any time during the game.

He missed Jacksonville's following two games and returned to action against the Houston Texans in Week 13 after the team's bye week.
However, Lawrence suffered a concussion from a cheap hit levied by Texans linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair during that game. Lawrence was placed into the protocol for the last two weeks and was put on the injured reserve list on Dec. 4. Al-Shaair, a repeat offender, was suspended for three games.
The team opted to place Lawrence on IR so he could have the surgery early, giving him a jump on the rehab process.
It's the second consecutive year that Lawrence had injury issues toward the end of the season, missing a game last year for an injury to his throwing shoulder.
That was his first missed start after beginning his career with 49 consecutive starts.
Let's take a look at Lawrence's injury history prior to and since coming to the NFL.
