It's funny, we've had a lot of conversations on my show about Ladd McConkie, and I'm a little on the negative side, but I, I feel like you can get a lot-- Like Scott Pianowski, y- I'm sure you've talked to about him, and he's 100% in.
He loves him.
He, he can't get enough.
Oh, yeah.
And then, I've ha- I, I have other people come on and go, "This is, this is g-" I just think he's being treated as though he's a number one, and he's more like kind of best among equals, and, and it'll be fine, and the c- and the floor is high, but the ceiling isn't, isn't as high.
I, I don't get Ladd.
I know you're a fan, though.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I'm a, I'm a big fan.
I- Yeah I, I wish I got more of him, but y- I'm usually in a draft with somebody who's also a really big fan, so he's a tough player.
Mm-hmm.
The, one of the biggest debates I have in my mind, and I know we're gonna talk about, this team, of course, 'cause we're talking about every team here.
But one of the bigger debates I have in my mind at the wide receiver position is Emeka Egbuka versus Ladd McConkie versus, like, Tetairoa McMillan.
I think the guy that I'm the highest on as a player is Ladd McConkie of the group, Chris.
But E- Egbuka, and again, we're talking Bucs later, that's one of my teams.
E- Egbuka as a player, I, I, I think actually from an opportunity standpoint and a skill set and a fit in the offense standpoint, I end up clicking him more than Ladd.
But that's not to say I'm not-- I, I love Ladd, where he goes, and I, I think he actually does have an extre- incredibly high ceiling in this offense.
Yeah.
I guess I don't know if I think he has an extraordinarily high ceiling, but, I, I think he's, you know- Is it just, like, the size or the skill set or any, or what, what is the hang-up with Ladd for you?
My hang-up is, it's not s- it's a little bit of the size, it's a little bit of the usage.
It's, which could change because it's a new offensive system, obviously.
I, I, like, there was such an opportunity for him to be good even though everything else was falling around.
Like, the, the kind of player he was supposed to be coming out of his rookie year was supposed to be the kind of player that could kind of salvage that pass offense.
And he- Yeah so did not.
He played bad last year.
Like, he, he did not help.
He was part of the problem.
And he- Mm-hmm stopped going down the field as much, and that can be related to the offensive line.
And it all, it might all be fruit from the poisonous tree.
We might go right back to the second half of '25 or '24.
But, you know, f- he goes in the third or maybe the early fourth, and it's a little rich for my blood.
I do take McMillan more, I would say, but we'll get to them.
Yeah, I disagree that he played poorly.
I would say that he did run cold on the 50/50 balls, where he went, ran, like, white hot, you know, in, in- Yeah his rookie season.
That's the, that's the thing where I do think, quite frankly, because he's a small white slot receiver, we still kind of expect him to be like that Wes Welker type, where to me he's more of like a Tyler Lockett type of player, where he's more useful in the downfield passing game, which is why I kinda like him in this offense more than the previous Greg Roman offense
