I think it would be a mistake again for me to start with anybody else than Armel Mukum.
For people that have been following me over the years, I was extremely high on Mukum coming out of Woodberry Forest.
Of course, he's from Canada originally, played down at Woodberry Forest for high school, and he is a player that I was super high on coming out 'cause at six foot three, two hundred and fifty pounds, I love the explosiveness, I love the strength in his frame, I loved everything.
But he's been a guy that's been a little bit of a slow burn player since he got to South Bend because his body has matured a lot over the last couple years, now standing at about three hundred to three hundred and five pounds.
And he almost left this off-season.
He entered the transfer portal, some other good offers were out there for him.
He decided to come back to play for defensive line coach Charlie Partridge and to fight for a spot for this team.
You've heard guys like Jalen Sneed recently sing the praises of Mukum and the off-season that he has put together, and that's just been really cool to see because I think most people expected Francis Brew transferring in from Pittsburgh, gonna be a really good player.
Jason Onyea is at least gonna be a good player based upon what we saw in 2025.
Then you obviously have Tion Gray, who's the m- monster defensive tackle transfer from Oregon.
You also have Elijah Hughes that played quality football.
I don't know if many people had Armel Mukum as the potential starter at defensive tackle going into fall camp, and it appears that he has the opportunity to do that.
If not, he's going to play a high volume of snaps
