Lions Emerge as Obvious Fit for Eagles CB Riq Woolen Before Trade Deadline

The Detroit Lions are being named an obvious fit for Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Riq Woolen ahead of the November 10 trade deadline, after missing out on Joey Porter Jr. Jeremy Fowler says rival teams frequently mention Woolen as a player the 2-5 Eagles might move, and his $1.26 million base salary could help get a deal done. Detroit is 4-2 entering Week 8 with the league's second-best offense at 30.7 points per game, but its defense allows a league-high 391.0 yards and 27.5 points per game. Woolen was a Pro Bowler as a 2022 rookie with Seattle, is a 2027 free agent, and would probably cost a fourth- or fifth-round pick.
