The Chicago Bears practiced on Thursday at Halas Hall.

An important practice, what Ben Johnson was saying as he detailed the week with going into week one.

Just next week, he wanted this practice to make sure that everything was built up to this point, stamina, endurance, pad level, fundamentals, technique.

Just don't wanna lose what they've gained, over the summer, and don't wanna lose that going into the weekend because the Bears will be off the next couple of days.

But in this practice, wide receiver Rome Odunze and running back DeAndre Swift left early with injuries.

According to reporters who were there, Odunze left practice early during the install period.

The Tribune's Sean Hammond wrote that the wide receiver also appeared to be dealing with a right leg injury.

Not to be mistaken with Odunze's stress fracture that was in his left foot.

And Hammond also wrote this about Odunze, "He attempted to stay in practice before he eventually left with the trainer."

I think that's a good sign.

Again, we will hear from Ben Johnson next week, and the earliest that the Bears would have to say something is Wednesday.

They're not required to say anything before that.

DeAndre Swift, the running back who's had such a great training camp.

He called this one of his best camps of his career.

Well, he left towards the end of practice after a rep during an 11-on-11 session.

According to The Athletic's Dan Wiederer, the Bears' running back appeared, quote, "to be in significant discomfort."

That's obviously not the news that you wanna hear with just 10 days away from the week one matchup against the Carolina Panthers now.

But we'll have to wait and see what these updates bring for both these guys.

They're each huge, huge parts of this Bears offense, what they wanna do offensively this season.

The running game was a significant part of the identity of the Chicago Bears.

And Rome Odunze, for the first four weeks, was lighting the world on fire until he got injured later in October.

He's looking to be a bounce-back candidate, but also just to be a bigger part of the offense now that DJ Moore is not there as the, one of the Bears' wide receivers.

So we'll have to wait and see what the updates are.

It sounds a little more encouraging for Rome Odunze, but the Bears can't really afford to have anything bad happen to DeAndre Swift, considering how much the offense goes through that rushing attack.

We'll see what Ben Johnson has to say early next week as the Bears continue to prepare for their week one matchup against the Carolina Panthers.
