D'Andre Swift, he's poised for a big 2026 season.
Now let's get into really quickly what happened in Thursday's practice as local reporters were, were not allowed to tweet during the practice, but afterwards it appears that D'Andre Swift exited early and was holding his left side as he walked off the field with a trainer.
Obviously, that's gonna be huge news for the Bears as they continue to monitor that situation.
D'Andre Swift's gonna be a huge part of this Bears rushing attack, and he's looked phenomenal all summer.
So depending on what this injury is and how long it impacts him, we'll have to wait and see and wait to hear from Ben Johnson when he speaks about that.
But everything before today's practice is signaling to me that Swift is in for a big 2026 season.
He's in year two of this Ben Johnson offense.
He knows the terminology, he understands the scheme, he knows what his offensive line in front of him is looking like, and that's why it's leading to what should be another fun season to watch Swift run the football between the tackles, outside of the tackles, and that's what leads me to believe that he's gonna have a big season.
Again, this injury that happened on Thursday's practice, I wasn't at House Hall, but that's obviously gonna determine w- you know, what, what could end up happening here.
But everything before that, the efficiency that he was running the football with, creating explosives, I should say, because the Bears don't like efficiency.
It's a word that almost bothers, I think, Ben Johnson, this Bears coaching staff, as much as the two words last season.
The Bears look for explosives in the running game.
That's exactly what D'Andre Swift has shown throughout the course of the summer, that he is an explosive back, that he's looking to create those types of plays for his offense, for his quarterback, Caleb Williams, for this offensive line.
And just having more familiarity with the system, I think allows him to play even faster than he was, allows him to trust the guys in front of him.
So when you're thinking about consistency, explosive, that's D'Andre Swift.
It's hard to find somebody over the course of this summer that's had a more consistent training camp than him.
We'll have to see what this injury is, how it's going to impact him, if it will, for any period of time.
But just know that D'Andre Swift, if he's full and healthy and ready to go, he is in store for a big season this upcoming year.
