Rider’s Failed Wheelie Stunt Sends Motorcycle Crashing Into Passing Car, Parts Explode Into the Air

It took less than 12 seconds for a motorcycle ride to turn into a shocking accident, and it appeared to be the fault of the rider for attempting a reckless stunt on a public roadway.

That's how long the video was that captured the whole scene from the backseat of a vehicle driving in front of the motorcycle. The clip, which was shared to the WinStupidPrizes Reddit community, showed the rider on a narrow two-lane road with fairly steady traffic when they suddenly tipped up on their back wheel.

The attempted wheelie was an immediate fail, though, as the bike kept rising until the rider's feet hit the ground and they were knocked off of it entirely. Even worse, the bike turned out of control and slammed into the side of a passing car, sending motorcycle parts flying in all directions.

As the video drew to a close, the rider tumbled to a stop and hopped back on their feet, jogging toward the bike, so they appeared to be okay. The impacted car pulled over, while an approaching car behind the motorcyclist stopped, as well, clearly a witness to what had just happened.

The man recording the video from in front of it narrated the accident flatly, "And he wrecked." A Reddit user noted his delivery in a comment, writing, "Perfect commentary. Simple, straight to the point, no emotion. Pure cinema."

Most Reddit users appeared to feel for the innocent passerby who suddenly found themselves involved in an accident. "Wrecked someone's car and could have killed them because he had to show off like a little kid," read one comment.

One user wondered if the rider carried sufficient insurance to cover the damages they caused, with Guessing Headlights noting that liability insurance covers injuries or property damage caused by another driver, but only up to the limits of that driver's policy.

A commenter offered a possible resolution, writing, "Doing [expletive] like this should lose you your motorcycle license permanently." Another amended the suggestion to, "I think just never allowed to drive anything would be better."
