JetBlue Business Card: Good perks and welcome offer for frequent JetBlue business flyers

If you frequently fly JetBlue for business, the JetBlue Business Card could help reduce the cost of future business trips, and its perks can improve your airport and in-flight experiences.

Here's a look at all the card has to offer small business owners, so you can decide if it's right for your future business travels — or if a more general travel card may be a better fit.

  • Annual fee
    $99
  • Welcome offer
Earn 50,000 bonus points after spending $4,000 and paying the annual fee in full within the first 90 days
  • Rewards rate
    • 6x points on eligible JetBlue purchases
    • 2x points at restaurants and office supply stores
    • 1x points on all other purchases
  • Benefits
    • Free first checked bag for you and up to 3 eligible travel companions on JetBlue-operated flights
    • Group 3 boarding on JetBlue-operated flights
    • Earn 5,000 bonus points each year after your JetBlue Business Card account anniversary

The best way to earn rewards with the JetBlue Business Card is by using it to make JetBlue purchases. Eligible purchases include flights and other purchases made through jetblue.com, JetBlue reservations, JetBlue Vacations, and JetBlue airport ticket counters. These transactions will net you 6X TrueBlue points per $1 spent. However, purchasing extra TrueBlue points won't earn the bonus rate.

That said, you can also earn 2X bonus points in broader spending categories like dining at restaurants and office supply store purchases. All other purchases will net you 1X points.

Keep in mind that some types of transactions won't count as purchases or earn points, including cash advances, balance transfers, credit card fees, interest charges, fraudulent spending, and more.

You can redeem JetBlue TrueBlue points for JetBlue-operated flights (using all points or cash+points), JetBlue Vacations packages, statement credits, or donations.

When you use your points to redeem an award flight with JetBlue, you'll also get 10% of your points back after you take the flight.

Finally, you can use points to book flights with select JetBlue airline partners: Cape Air, Etihad Airways, Hawaiian Airlines, and Qatar Airways. While these are the only partners that allow TrueBlue redemptions, you can earn TrueBlue points on an even larger list of JetBlue partner airlines.

The JetBlue Business Card comes with a range of benefits that can help you save time and money on your business travels with the airline.

Get a $100 statement credit if you use your card to purchase a JetBlue Vacations package each calendar year. This annual credit applies to one eligible JetBlue Vacations purchase over $100 annually. While this statement credit is a handy perk, comparing prices on vacation packages through JetBlue and elsewhere is still important to find the best possible deal.

When you use your card for eligible food and drink purchases on JetBlue-operated flights, you'll get 50% back as a statement credit.

For being a loyal JetBlue Business cardholder, you'll get an annual bonus of 5,000 TrueBlue points after your cardmember anniversary.

When you use points to redeem award flights, also get 10% points back after you take the award flight. There's no maximum to the amount of bonus TrueBlue points you can get with this bonus.

When you use your JetBlue Business Card to buy tickets on a JetBlue-operated flight, you and up to four other travelers on the same reservation will get priority Group A boarding.

Likewise, when you buy tickets with your card, you and up to three travel companions can get a free first checked bag on JetBlue-operated flights.

Add employee cards to your card account for no extra charge. You'll have the ability to set spending limits and control credit lines, plus you can get a consolidated statement with all purchases.

And don't forget that opening employee cards along with your JetBlue Business Card can help you earn the extra 10,000 welcome bonus points (when a purchase is made with the employee card within your first 90 days).

Purchases you make with your card can help you work toward JetBlue Mosaic elite status. You'll earn 1 Mosaic tile for every $1,000 spent with your card. For spending on JetBlue flights, JetBlue Vacations packages, and Paisly by JetBlue, you'll earn 1 Mosaic tile for every $100 spent.

You reach Mosaic 1 status by earning 50 tiles in a given year, and this status comes with perks like priority boarding, two free checked bags, and more. As you earn even more tiles, you can gain higher status and unlock more Mosaic perks when you fly.

You won't pay any foreign transaction fees on international purchases made with your JetBlue Business Card.

The JetBlue Business Card is best for small business owners who fly JetBlue fairly often. As with most airline cards, you can maximize the value you get with this card by using it for JetBlue flights — whether you're earning points by purchasing flights or redeeming them for an award flight on your next business trip.

Even when you're not traveling, you can still earn points with bonus categories on restaurant and office supply purchases. Look back at your recent business spending; if a lot of your budget falls within these categories, this could be a great way to earn more points toward future travel.

However, small business owners who aren't loyal to JetBlue might be better off applying for another airline card or a general travel rewards card for business.
