Gestalt

In an area of town with an abundance of local bars, German-themed Gestalt has carved a niche for itself. Gestalt's main attraction is its proposition of a liter of beer at very affordable prices, which is all too rare to find these days. While the Gestalt bar does not serve any hard liquor, its wide beer selection, from Sierra Nevada and PBR to Kronenberg 1664, certainly is an upside. With the bar sporting a laidback vibe that attracts its fair share of San Francisco hipster–fixed gear bike types, be prepared to enter a mellow atmosphere and listen to German folk tunes. With cheap sausages and tasty sauerkraut, you get the feeling that Gestalt celebrates Oktoberfest all year round.

Sangria & Salt

In the heart of the Mission District, Sangria & Salt breathes new life into the iconic Cha Cha Cha space, blending Latin-Caribbean soul with California coastal flair. Le Cordon Bleu graduate Jonathan Young crafts a menu of legacy tapas, market-fresh seafood, and vibrant brunch favorites. The grand 140-foot bar anchors the room, pouring signature sangrias and rum-forward cocktails. Fueled by an upbeat, welcoming energy, it’s a destination celebrating bold food and community connection. From lively brunch to late-night gatherings, Sangria & Salt is where flavor, culture, and connection come alive.

Fly Bar

Step inside the Fly Bar & Restaurant and you'll find a trendy blend of neo-modern, avant garde and retro chic. Deep purple walls surround the bar and the walls have an ever changing mix of artwork. The menu, like the decor, reflects many influences. You'll find fusion dishes along with American comfort food, including mini pizzas. The bar has a great selection of beers and wine, but if you're not sure what to order you can't go wrong with their tasty Pink Ginger. The Fly Bar & Restaurant is also known for its fantastic Happy Hour deals.

R Bar

This is a neighborhood kind of place with all types of people coming in to hang out and drink, of course. You can enjoy one of the many beers on tap or one of the special cocktails. This place is usually bustling with people on the last day of the weekend. The service is friendly and you may end up chatting with the bartender or the owner. A great place to socialize and meet friends.

Curio

Curio is a bar and restaurant that celebrates the unconventional. Nestled next to The Chapel, the Mission's iconic music venue, it’s a space where some of life’s best pleasures come together—thoughtfully crafted cocktails, flavorful food, and live music. At its core is the bar, where skilled mixologists shake up creative drinks. The space itself nods to its history as a former mortuary, blending an air of mystery with a timeless charm.
