The original location for La Bella Pizza was founded at the current Olsen location in May of 2003. While the word slowly built about the new pizza place in town, business began to improve. Before too long a buzz was quickly traveling between folks around Amarillo. More and more people continued to try the newest in local fare eventually making it the busiest pizza restaurant in town. There were a number of ups and downs through the years as the business was sold and ran by a couple different owners. Fast forward over 13 years later and under the new owners, Jim and Candy Dewitz, La Bella Pizza on Olsen (no affiliation with other locations) has become Amarilloan's as well as traveler's go-to spot for lunch, dinner, and late night pizza for delivery or take-out. The opportunity arose to expand to the space next door adding a dining area, bar, and drive thru window to better accommodate more guests. Along with the expansion, they were also able to make beer delivery an option for the La Bella faithful.
Voted as the restaurant with the best Chicken Fried Steak in Dallas by D Magazine, Hoffbrau Steaks is a fast-growing and popular restaurant for its delicious beef and other home cooked dishes. Tasty entree items such as Roy's New York Strip and Bandera Pork Chop is served with either soup or salad and a choice of sides such as steak fries, rice pilaf, scalloped potatoes, creamed corn, hill country beans, fried okra, mashed potatoes or steamed vegetables. New items are often added to the menu such as char-grilled quail and pork ribs. Also, be sure to try a margarita or a root beer float.
