Crocker Art Museum

Founded in the 1870s, Crocker Art Museum is known as the first art museum in the West. The historical building with hand-carved doors, ornate walls and parquet floors, creates a gorgeous backdrop as impressive as the art. The art includes the Gold Rush, Victorian and European masters and contemporary works. The museum hosts art talks, classical concerts, jazz concerts, and tours (afternoons and weekends). A gift shop is also available.

Artspace1616 is contemporary art gallery focused on emerging mid career and established artist. For the months of January and February Gallery features works of Alejandro Rubio, David Mayhew, Numan Begovic and David Blue Garisson.

Established in the year 2009, Verge Center for the Arts has been compared to the New York art galleries and hailed as one of Sacramento's best contemporary art spaces. Having relocated and expanded since its initial years, the gallery now not only hosts exhibitions of photography, sculpture and paintings but also of video installations and performing art installations. Several classes and workshops by well-known artists are also organized here from time to time.
