Located in downtown Stamford is the University of Connecticut Stamford - Art Gallery. The purpose of this art gallery within the University is to create an environment for learning of art and its creative processes, which is very useful for its students. The gallery is spread over a large area and has a welcoming environment, which attracts artists and visitors from all over the region. The gallery showcases exhibits from emerging and established artists and hosts several shows a year, which includes photography shows, artist’s collectives, themed exhibits and solo shows. At the discretion of the artists, visitors can buy exhibits on display.
The Stamford Art Association is an art gallery that aims to provide a forum for budding artists through its exhibitions and workshops. Several members of this gallery include prominent painters, sculptors and artists who hand out much needed lectures about artistic culture and the evolution of art. Through various workshops for kids, the association also looks to encourage young artistic talent and even exhibits some of the innocent yet beautiful creations of these kids. It also hosts various competitions for the neighborhood kids wherein they are encouraged to used vivid colors to bring their imagination to life.

Like most art galleries, Loft Artists Association aims to provide a platform for young artists to showcase their talent and express themselves through their work. While that may be their primary objective, this gallery also hopes to reach out to the community and share their passion for art through numerous exhibitions and events. One of the many initiatives organised is the annual Open Studio where in you can step into the extraordinary minds of talented artists as they create an awe-inspiring portrait of their thoughts on canvas.
