"We are Artists first, Dancers second." The Drift Gallery Dance Studio exists to give the youth of Alaska the opportunity to express their creativity through Hip-Hop Dance. We aim to spark an appreciation for and pay homage to all the communities and cultures that have contributed to make Hip-Hop what it is today. Just as dance is a universal form of expression, The Drift Gallery space and culture demonstrates and promotes diversity and artistic expression.
General info: For over 40 years, our mission has been to provide students whit a warm and supportive environment in which to learn dance. We strive for excellent technique while using age appropriate material and positive reinforcement in a friendly. Fun setting. We want to inspire beautiful. Expressive dancers that are confident. Happy people on and off the stage. Our students improve coordination and fitness level, explore their talents. And gain friendships that will be remembered forever.
Whether you've danced before, or think you have two left feet, you've come to the right place. This Fred Astaire Dance Studio is known for its patience and success in teaching dance. When you start lessons at the Fred Astaire studio, you'll get to choose from multiple dance styles and approaches. Some of the dances we teach are Swing (East and West Coast), Salsa, Foxtrot, Waltz, Tango, Cha Cha, Rumba, Merengue, Bachata, Country Western Two Step, Night Club Two Step, Hustle, and others. Our welcoming environment makes our studio the perfect place to hone your skills, no matter what level you are at currently. We are experts in partnership dancing, having been teaching Alaskans to dance for over 45 years. We love to take brand new students out on the floor and turn them into comfortable and confident social dancers. And, not to forget the more advanced students, we have classes that will make you stand out on the dance floor. Another specialty for us is our Wedding Programs. It is our desire to help couples create First Dances that are an everlasting expression of their love and commitment as well as just plain fun. We also love with all fathers and daughters and mothers and sons with their dances. Our instructors are trained, certified, experienced (teaching from 15 to over 25 years), patient, and lots of fun!
