Brazivedas
Brazivedas is an organization committed to promoting Brazilian arts and culture by offering a wide range of classes and instruction including Dance, Music, and Capoeira for all levels, genders, and ages. In addition to its core Brazilian focus, Brazivedas expands its scope to embrace other cultures and traditions. It has been particularly influenced by Mestre Beiçola's studies and appreciation of Vedic spiritual philosophy. From this combination of philosophies comes the name and platform Brazivedas. The teachings of ancient Vedic culture also inspired the name of our Capoeira group "Narahari" which means half-lion half-man in the Sanskrit language.
Capoeira was born in Brazil from the African roots transplanted there during the days of slavery. It is a dynamic expression of Afro-Brazilian culture that inspires all who try it out with its energy and power. Today it can be found in many countries throughout the entire world. Crossing many facets of personal expression, it encompasses its own philosophy, history, culture, and music while developing a strong sense of community amongst its participants. " A dance-like fight, a fight-like dance, a song, a way of life!" --Mestre Acordeon, UCA founder
