Narthana specializes in the Pandanallur style of Bharathanatyam, the style well renowned for its intricate footwork and elaborate Abhinaya. The Pandanallur style has a reputation for its emphasis on linear geometry in Adavu technique and for the intensity and understatement in Abhinaya. The institution not only trains the students in Bharathanatyam but also imparts the rich Indian culture. Classes include theory sessions in which the Hasthas, Karnas, Bedhas and various other technical aspects of Bharathantayam are taught. At Narthana every dancer learns from every other dancer. Each dancer works at his/her own skill levels and pace and dancers will encourage each other.
