Halau Hula 'O Kilakilapilialohaikapu'uwai "Hula School of Majestic Love that Clings to the Heart" Our Mission Statement: " Your shape, age, or background does not matter; all that matters is your desire to learn and dance Hula. Join us in dancing hula, both `auna (modern hula) and kahiko (ancient hula), Tahitian, Samoan Siva, Maori, oli (chanting), pa'i (playing drum, ipu/ipuheke, history, language, and sharing our aloha spirit with the community." A Message From Kumu: "A'ohe pau ka 'ike ka Halau ho'okahi" "not all knowledge is learned in one house/Halau. All that we have and share is of the grace of our Father in Heaven. All that we do is in hopes that we are making our Kupuna's proud. My goals and mana'o for this Halau are, and always will be, to ho'oimua what Master Kumuhula Uncle Hank and Kumuhula Auntie Kau'i have set in place for Florida. I will continue to teach the art of hula, through our works in the community." ~Kumu Kapilipu'uwai Hilary Patricia Silva, Halau Hula 'O Kilakilapilialohaikapu'uwai
ReFlex's focus is to instill the love of dance in each one of our students. From the age of 2 - 18, we emphasize technique that is developmentally appropriate for each age level. The children's program (through age 8) utilizes the reknowned Kiddance Syllabus, that keeps the fun in dance while teaching proper technique for the little ones. Our pre professional training program strives to create beautiful dancers who are not only technically proficient, but also have a strong sense of artistry and are well versed in multiple genres of dance.
