Studio 19 Dance Company is an award winning dance studio which offers instruction in ballet, pointe, jazz, tap, acro, lyrical, modern dance, hip hop. We also offer creative movement classes specifically designed for children with special needs. Our dancers range from early pre-school age through adult, at the beginner to advanced levels. The studio has THREE large dance rooms, a spacious waiting area and a break room for students and teachers. Our dance floors are sprung to prevent student injury. Our teaching faculty is comprised of highly qualified and professional adults. Our teachers are committed to providing our students with a high quality dance education, with special attention paid to our students' individual needs and abilities. Emphasis is placed on teaching proper ballet technique and execution. We encourage all of our students to enroll in at least one ballet class per week. Competitive and Company students must meet weekly ballet class requirements. Many of our dancers participate in benefit performances throughout the year. In the past our dancers have helped raise thousands of dollars to provide aid to area individuals, and for Golisano Children's Hospital, victims of Hurricane Katrina & to promote AIDS awareness. We strongly believe in finding opportunities for our dancers to use their time and talent to assist those in need. Groove Juice Swing LLC, established in 2004, is based in Rochester, N.Y., and specializes in Lindy Hop, the original form of swing dance from the 1920s and 1930s. GJS offers dance classes, weekly social dances, live band dance events, performances, and dance workshops throughout the year. Join us for our weekly swing dance, Lindy Jam, every Wednesday night, 8:30-10:30pm at The Rose Room, 295 Gregory St. Free lesson at 8:45pm, and admission is free your first time! Annual events include Stompology, a solo jazz dance workshop weekend; the Club Hot-Cha Roaring Twenties Party; and the Red Hot Holiday Ball, a social dance and party dedicated to all of the newest swing dancers in the community. Staff members and instructors are passionate about all things Lindy Hop, traveling all over the world to compete against and learn from the very best swing dancers. They bring that same commitment and enthusiasm to the dance community in Rochester.
