It's our job to take a workout and make it as fun as possible. Whether it's dance, HIIT or yoga - we guarantee a great playlist, great workout and great results. We have even added some surprises to our schedule like dance team and boxing classes to give you the most unique and entertaining exercise programs.
Richmond Dance Center was founded in 1976. In its 33 years of existence, its unparalleled reputation for offering quality instruction in Classical Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Dance Exercise, and Creative Movement for children and adults is highly regarded on local, regional, and national levels. Pam Turner received her B.F.A. in dance from the North Carolina School of the Arts and then continued her studies in NY for several years. She has taught for Richmond Ballet, Tidewater Ballet, VCU, and the Henrico Center for the Arts as well as serving as an Artist-in-Residence for schools in Virginia and North Carolina. She has choreographed for SPARC, King's Dominion, Carowinds, the University of Richmond, the New Virginians at Virginia Tech, a national tour for Georgia-Pacific and various commercials and pageants. She was the recipient of the 2007 Theresa Pollack Prize for Dance for her contribution of dance in the Richmond Community.
Our goal is to create a safe and nurturing space where the Latin dance community can discover, explore and develop their own dance skills. We aim to provide quality yet affordable lessons while building self-love, and a sense of family and community.
Rigby's Jig
Rigby's Jig Dance Studio is focused on communication of "Social" or "Partnered" dances in all styles. Smooth (Waltz, Foxtrot), Latin (Cha Cha, Salsa, Rhumba), Swings (East Coast, West Coast, Shag, Hustle), Country Western, and more are taught here. Along with Private and Group Lessons, Rigby's Jig hosts weekly dance parties for students to practice their moves in a friendly, non-competitive atmosphere! Wedding Dances are our specialty! We want our wedding couples to feel comfortable on the floor for their first dance. We love creating choreography that musically match their songs and creatively match their personalities.
