Corinthian Event Center or Corinthian Grand Ballroom as it is also known is a magnificent downtown San Jose facility. This 1924 neoclassic, grand dame will usher you in with its expansive granite steps, huge urns and towering columns. Its elegant foyer will charm you with its engraved wooden beam ceiling and exquisite chandelier. But it is the regal ballroom that is the star of this already alluring building. Its intricately designed massive wood-beam ceiling with alternate blue glass panes and gold leaf panels, large, unique wrought iron and glass light fixtures, and festively decorated palm trees add to the romance of this place. Nichols Hall opened in 2008 and is located in the campus of Harker Upper School. This eco-friendly science and technology center is named in honor of Howard Nichols, the former head of the school. Spread across 50,000 square feet (4645.15 square meters), this steel, glass and concrete building features a glass gazebo with an enormous pendulum following the rotation of the earth, a forum with a fixed radiant floor and curvilinear roof system and a 200-seat auditorium with a living roof. There are solar panels as well across the facility.
