Set in a historic building from 1922 that was built as a residency for doctors and nurses, Sugar Hill Clay Studio is named as an ode to the Sugar Hill Historic District it is located in. The Beaux Arts three story building is the perfect place for this studio where you can try your hand in ceramic arts. Their classes and workshops are suitable for all ages. Fun and interactive, get to know how to make beautiful piece of art from clay at this studio. Throw, cast or form your object and let their staff kiln it to make it ready to take home.
Set in a former fire station, Wasserman Projects is the brainchild of Gary Wasserman and Charlie Kashner. Taking an unconventional route from the other galleries in town, this gallery aims for an engaging environ for artists and visitors like. Visual art in all its form is encourage here. There is a space for concerts and installations separately in the gallery. The display room showcases rotaing exhibits that are offbeat yet visually impressive. These include the likes of body mapping, mixed media sculptures, water media art and Old Master paintings. Their exhibitions like the Homemade Ice Cream by Jason Yates, a Los Angeles artist, featured a vibrant roster of chefs, artists, writers and musicians showcasing their flair in the environs of the massive art installation.
We are a small Art Gallery located just a block away from Woodward and the Historic Arden Park! We are a Black owned Art Gallery and Small Event space aiming to involve all of Detroit's cultures by exploring and advancing the importance of art collecting and exhibiting.
What Pipeline
An artist-run art gallery, What Pipeline is well-known all over the city for its contemporary art exhibitions by local artists. Not only do visitors get the chance to catch a glimpse artworks by Mary Ann Aitken and Olivia Erlanger, but the gallery also organizes a number of art fairs and other cultural events.
