Experience Music Together™ and find out how important, and how fun your role can be! Our Music Together classes build on your child's natural enthusiasm for music and movement. We'll help you provide your child with the basic musical skills needed to enjoy school and social musical activities, and to study an instrument should he or she choose to do so. Our goal is to nurture your child's natural enthusiasm for music and movement. We sing, dance, chant and play instruments in an informal setting that allows children to develop at their own pace. We also educate parents/caregivers, who acting as models in the class, learn how to encourage their child's musical growth. This is a non-performance orientated program which emphasizes the learning process, rather than the product.
I am very patient with students of all ages. I am genuinely committed to helping any student, regardless of abilities, to learn how to play their guitar, electric bass, or ukulele. I don't teach songs (at first) ... teaching a song to a student is like teaching a few words to a parrot. The parrot can repeat those words, but they have no vocabulary for saying anything else. I teach students HOW to play ... then later they can learn songs and WHAT to play, either from me or from YouTube.
Ellie Enns Piano School believes that when learning the language of music, creating music is an essential part for attaining the full therapeutic and academic benefits that piano lessons have to offer. Music composition and improvisation will be encouraged and incorporated in lessons, as well as classical music theory from beginner levels to advanced. Any age or expertise is accepted.
