Beginner Drumming Lessons for Djembe and Rhythm in general. $35 per 60min (online) $40 per 60min (in-person) - optional drum provided. Rhythm is a beautiful thing. It goes to the core of music and also to the core of ourselves, mimicking the pulse of the heart beat. I feel lucky to have gotten involved in drumming. It has taken my connection with music to a whole new level and I dare say changed my life. I offer two different lesson formats: 1. Standard - If you don't know exactly what your direction is yet, or you are a beginner who is attracted to drumming in general, then I will give you a general step by step approach that will teach you to the foundational basics and get you going so that you can start exploring the wonderful world of drumming. 1. Tailor made - I'll ask you what you want to get out of drumming, and then from there I'll create lesson plans for you to achieve your goal. You can take once-off lessons or commit to an ongoing program. Either way, you'll learn the correct drumming technique: how to sit, how to hold the drum, how to strike the drum to make the different sounds. You will learn rhythm theory, different rhythm patterns, and we'll also talk about improvising to get you loose and jamming to your hearts content! If you don't have a drum, I have a nice 11" djembe that you can borrow for the lesson.
