Are you ready for a fun and exciting journey in to the world of live-performance? My live ensemble program gives students an opportunity to play with other students in a live band setting. In this program we explore a variety of styles from classical to rock, jazz and blues, with live drums, bass, guitar, vocals and a variety of other instruments. This may very well be the most important skill of all "the ability to play with other musicians". I teach Guitar, bass, drums and keyboards. Private one-on-one lessons in my studio. Learn without struggling with the structures of traditional techniques. I welcome beginners of all ages. Music should be accessible to ANYBODY, not just a talented few. You'll enjoy playing your favorite songs before going into traditional music reading. Also, once you have learned the basics of piano, I can teach you the basics of guitar, applying the same method. I offer group music classes for children 3 to 5 years old, where they'll sing songs in English and Spanish, listen to story telling related to those songs, play percussion instruments, learn to write some words in Spanish, and do creative drawing, and instrument building.
I am now offering online lessons with Facetime, Zoom or Google Duo. It's easy and it actually works well. My lessons with younger kids includes jumping, clapping, stomping, etc as well as basic reading and lots of drumming on whatever you have in your home. I love music and I love teaching. In my over 20 years of teaching experience, I have found that different students learn in different ways. Because of this, I adapt my lesson plans to fit the students' learning styles and goals. I'm very experienced teaching children from 2 years old and up. I've travelled the world playing in all kinds of environments, so I know what is really important about being a drummer, as well as how to keep things fun and engaging.
