As a professional voice teacher, Shelly's approach to technique is founded on her extensive background of over forty years of education, studying the voice as well as personal experience as an accomplished singer and performer in her own right. Through her years of dedicated study, she has discovered the singer benefits from simplicity when it comes to instruction; a singer to singer approach, if you will. In her unique way of connecting to her pupils, Shelly focuses not just on the voice, but on the whole person. She shows the student a way to connect with themselves, their bodies and their emotions. She teaches by guiding each student into their own personal process. A process by way of custom fit vocal exercises that take the singer to the ranges desired, connection and the control they've always hoped for. spech-level-sinigngOne can be instructed and get overwhelmed by too much information and not enough singing. As a result of Shelly's unique style of teaching, she is equally successful with children, as well adults, the novice, as well as the professional. She is known to create something out of nothing, meaning, finding a pupils voice that no one, including themselves knew existed.
Specialising in music education for young learners, including group classes for 2+ year olds (even younger with parent participation), up through private instruction, when they're ready. One important process here is that we check a young learner's readiness is seven different areas before helping them select the right instrument for private instruction.
