We specialize in music classes for young children with an emphasis on piano. Our early child education program will give your child all the social and educational benefits of a pre-school within our custom musical environment. The program fosters caring and sharing amongst our students . Comparing our program with music lessons , we offer the young child, often too young to participate in costly private lessons, a way to learn piano basics. At the end of our 4 level program your preschooler will be able to read grand staff music notation, play simple songs on the piano- Hands together, keep a steady beat and have a love and joy for music that will carry them into their musical future. Each group lesson your child attends will offer a wide variety of activities,singing, dancing, movement, listening , playing instruments, artwork. While teaching kinder students has been our main business for 8 years or so teaching pre-schoolers (4 y.o.) as been a successful new venture for us this last year. Ive been Teaching for 20 years, but have been a professional Musician for 52 years. I play Keyboards, mostly the classic keys like Hammond Organ, Acoustic Piano, and Wurlitzer electronic piano. My second main instrument would be lead, slide, 12 string, and acoustic guitar, bass, Mandolin, electric sitar ( of my own modification), harmonica, and trumpet. I am a songwriter, and played with the Doobie Bros touring for 8 years, 1988-1996 . I am self taught, but did play trumpet early on in youth symphonies, with quick checkups with the Neighbor, the conductor, of the Cal State symphony, in early 60s. My mother played organ at church, and Taught the neighborhood kids. I wanted to rock, so I taught myself: mowed lawns, and bought a 10$ pump organ at a garage sale. I played along with he radio, and learned songs quickly, thanks to mom's great ear, and joy. My first gig was the film and Album "The last days of the Fillmore, I replaced Nicky Hopkins, who went back to the Rolling Stones. That was 1971, I played with Quicksilver Messenger service for the Summer, I was 18, then went back to college. My first scholarship recipient was James Durbin, who went on American Idol, and had 30,000,000 fans voting for him! Many other students have gone pro or play their behinds off, and we remain friends,sometimes I hire them, as they are as good as pros, because I dont do "book teaching" I play by ear, and by heart .
