Miles McKenzie and Prune Farm Studio teach piano, trumpet, and voice to students of all ages. He specializes in teaching students the music they want to learn, customizing lessons to the individual student's needs Miles regularly performs throughout the Bay Area. He is experienced in performing and teaching jazz, classical, latin, pop, rock, funk, R&B, and many other styles.

My specialty is working with singer-songwriters, singer-actors and all styles of popular music. I encourage singers to connect to their voice through somatic awareness. Vocal exercises focus on building that "relationship" while I encourage the uniqueness of YOU through your choice of appropriate songs. I also work with trans women in the feminization of the voice, should that be desired. I have developed my own approach to this work. In this, as in all work with the speaking voice, I will work either on Skype or in person.

The Bija Children's Choir is a multicultural children's chorus based in Sebastopol, CA for students ages 5-18yrs from any school in the Sonoma County area. World music performances that benefit local community organizations are held throughout the year.
I give lessons in music composition, piano, theory, improvisation, and world music. I'm a well established composer and concert pianist, and I teach many styles. The key to my teaching style is both adaptability to students' interests and level, and Insight Methods which open up the creative wisdom of the individual.
