I teach private piano lessons exclusively. This includes both technique and musicianship which are presented in a positive and welcoming environment. I guide students of any level and age, from 4 years through senior. Both adults and children are taught according to age and level and receive the same thorough fundamentals. A common misconception is that adults cannot learn piano if they have had no previous experience as children or have not played for many years. Adults simply require a different approach. Consequently, lessons are individualized according to each students' needs and desires. " Technique" refers to physical movements required to play "repertoire" or pieces, with dynamics, speed and ease. "Theory" focuses on recognition of musical patterns which in turn, creates greater success and accuracy when learning repertoire. "Sight-reading" and "ear training" are taught as a unit with a unique system I developed over many years. Please contact me should you be interested in learning more about my teaching style and we can schedule a meeting. Thank you! Jamie

Hi! My name is Maggie. I’m a pianist and a teacher owning a studio in Sunnyvale while offering in-home lessons across the Bay Area. I maintain high standards in my teaching and ensure students develop proper technique from day one. Yet, my experience tells me that students learn best when they are enjoying it! My lessons are always fun, and I’ve had many parents tell me their kids are self-motivated to practice on their own at home. (I love it when that happens!) If you are interested in piano lessons, please take a look at www.maggielostudio.com. Thanks for reading!
