If you are someone like me who has always wanted to learn to play guitar, Gene is the person to contact. A year and a half ago, I contacted Gene as I was looking for a guitar teacher. I have been very impressed with his knowledge of music, his warm personality and support for me who knew nothing about the instrument. It is very obvious that music is a total life passion of his and his enthusiasm for beginners ( I'm sure he is the same way with more advanced players) is very encouraging. I believe that he has at least 35 years in the music world as a teacher and performer. Beyond the basics of learning the instrument, Gene is keenly interested in supporting the creative process if a student wishes to write his/her own lyrics and add music. He has written a great booklet on the process of writing a song and I have to say that it is very comprehensive and helpful. It is never too late to learn piano, older students are welcome as well. I approach each lesson with an individualized plan. You will receive lessons that are catered to not only help you succeed as a student, but also continue to excite you. I have found that by keeping it light and fun I am able to grasp attention of students longer. I always add fun songs and games to the normal curriculum to prolong interest in lessons.
