New Horizons Music Studio accepts students of all ages and abilities for a thorough music education with piano as the instrument focus. Music Theory, keyboard skills and technique, practice and performance skills and interpretation of music in all styles are the immediate goals. Life-long pursuit of active music enjoyment is the long-term goal. Director Rory Thompson has degrees in piano performance, 35 years of teaching experience, and is a retired Associate Professor of Piano. Rory is nationally certified by Music Teachers National Association, and is Master-Teacher certified by the Minnesota Music Teachers Association. New Horizons students participate in National Federation of Music Clubs Junior Festivals, MMTA Contest, Piano Exams the Ensemble Festival and studio activities such as quarterly Performance Classes and an annual Duet Recital.
