Gowanus Music Club offers kids year-round private instruction and group band instruction along with many opportunities to jam together informally. Students will spend time both in the rehearsal studio and in a recording studio. Bands will be formed to support individual ability and skill to allow each person to progress at their own pace while immersed in a shared musical experience. We will nurture diverse interests in musical genres to help kids discover what kinds of music they love. Each semester will culminate in a student performance that parents, family and friends will attend. Kids will take home CDs of their work that will serve as a wonderful document of their experience at GMC. It is of the utmost importance to us that your child has an inspiring and most of all fun experience at Gowanus Music Club. We are dedicated to the growth and fulfillment of your child's Rock and Roll future!
I am available immediately for private lessons in my home in South Park Slope, my studio in Gowanus, or your home. As an educator, I specialize in Classical, Rock, Jazz, Blues, Funk, Hip-Hop, Salsa, Brazilian styles, as well as North and South Indian Music. I am aware that the abilities and goals of each student vary, which is why I work to tailor a lesson plan structured around each student as an individual. While you will be professionally trained and gathering a level of comfort and expertise on either the drumset or piano, you will also be encouraged to have fun and learn what most interests you.

Brooklyn Music Factory students can take private lessons (piano, guitar, bass, drums and voice) and/or join one of 20 bands, where we teach music through carefully designed games that take the monotony and boredom out of learning music. All of our students have fun while developing key musical skills and qualities, including confidence, communication, creativity. We firmly believe that making music with other people is an integral part of understanding music, so our students have regular opportunities to play with others and are constantly motivated to continue developing as musicians. Our musicians perform regularly at public venues, including Littlefield, Splitty, and Rock Shop.

I offer guitar, piano & songwriting lessons in Park Slope at the Music Room inside Spoke The Hub. Recently, I have helped current students prepare for a performance at the Kennedy Center, audition for high school and college, write and produce their own albums, meet their yearly goals for music and prepare for recitals. I work with each student to develop a curriculum that is in line with the student's goals. I strive to keep lessons fun while helping students discover their musical voices. I teach rock, pop, folk, classical and songwriting. It brings me a lot of joy to watch students become more confident musicians and songwriters. I have a Master’s in Music Education, write my own music, have recorded over 5 albums & toured throughout the US.
