Keys to Life is a vibrant community of families and music teachers working together to create competent, confident, well-rounded musicians. KTL has four convenient locations in NE PDX and Beaverton where students master the classical foundation (including reading and ear-training) and apply it to their favorite music. KTL Parents quickly learn that KTL teachers and staff listen to and take care of their needs. They also enjoy the smooth operation of the KTL Administration, the reasonable rates, and on-going discounts. Wait, wait- there's more: top-notch recitals, the UpStartRock program, camps, and innovative preschool music classes hosted at local day cares.
If you're new to the guitar you'll start off by learning the key fundamentals and techniques of guitar and music through the songs of your favorite artists. For the advanced players who are tired of mindlessly riffing away in box patterns and feel locked down to one area of the fretboard, he'll give you the keys that will unlock the mystery behind modes, arpeggios, and chord structures. Jonathan will take your knowledge of theory to the next level through many compelling exercises and challenging examples that can be applied to any real life playing situation.
Music is more than just notes on a page; it's the sounds of the natural world brought to life through our senses. At my studio, I teach piano while also connecting hard skills to real-life experiences. I strive to build a supportive and welcoming environment for students of all backgrounds, ages, and identities to develop confidence, curiosity, and valuable skills in their music-making.
