As an independent piano teacher with decades of teaching experience, I help students reach their full potential and I guide them towards learning how to play the piano, as well as learning about music in general. I am the Local Representative for the ABRSM exams (Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music), an international examining program held in over 90 countries in the world. Since I was born and lived in a non-US country, I bring a unique perspective into music education. I have 25 years of experience teaching music in schools, as well as being a Licensed Kindermusik Educator. I enjoy working with students of all ages who want to learn. The earlier children start music, the more benefits they reap from the experience of learning music.
My Jazz-guitar bands have been a success (2x MAMA awards, featured artist spotlights), thanks to regular residencies and performances in Madison since 2008. I've stayed committed to my craft by studying with NYC Jazz guitarist and mentor, Jordan Klemons, for the past six years. As for my guitar and bass lessons, they are shaped from teaching in a variety of settings since 2012; (The Goodman Center, Boys and Girls Club of Madison, Drums 'n Moore (Monona), Monroe St. Arts Center) which has given me the confidence to teach from my east side studio as of 2021. All of these experiences have combined to help me develop a three-prong approach that will get beginners to intermediates major results within a few months. When my techniques are consistently applied, students will be able to jam/create/improvise musical sections within six months of lessons. All lessons also include my "emotional ear training" course.
