Built in 1987, National Afro-American Museum and Cultural Center commemorates the contribution of the African American community. The museum exhibits nearly 9000 articles including manuscripts as well as personal belongings of eminent African American personalities. Memorabilia of Charles Young and retrospective pictures of African-American celebrities captured by Kojo Kamau, are some of the museums most valued possessions.
